The  Aakash tablet has finally gone on sale online. The ultra low-cost tablet is priced at Rs. 2,500, and comes with a delivery time of seven days. The Aakash tablet, previously nicknamed as Sakshat and touted as world’s cheapest tablet, is aimed at students and can be used for various functions. The 7-inch tablet however, has already been criticised for its slower processor and minimal features, especially when compared to the better-specced Aakash 2, which is due to be launched in January.

Perhaps DataWind, the maker of Aakash, aims to address its limitations with the launch of the Aakash 2, which for now is officially being called the UbiSlate 7 tablet, and has been priced at Rs. 2,999. DataWind has already started accepting pre-orders for the UbiSlate 7.

How to Use Facebook’s New Timeline Feature (and Hide Your Embarrassing Old Posts)

Facebook finally rolled out its much-anticipated Timeline feature today, which brings a snazzy new interface to your profile, not to mention the ability to see every post anyone's ever made back to their first day on Facebook. Here are the things you need to know about using it.
You can get the Timeline feature right now, but Facebook gives you seven days to adjust the look of your timeline before it goes public. Chances are, you'll want to tweak a few things before you publish it, so here are the things you'll want to look at during the next week before it goes live.

How to Browse the Timeline

When you first visit the new interface, you'll see that it is, in fact, a timeline of all your posts on Facebook, going from newest at the top to oldest at the bottom. By default, it shows all your posts from this month. If you scroll down to the bottom, it will automatically load all of your posts from last month. If you scroll to the bottom of that, it'll show the "highlights" from the rest of that year.
You'll also see on the right that you have a sidebar, from which you can jump to specific time periods. Click on a year and it'll jump to the Highlights view for that year, and expand the sidebar to show every month from that year. Click on a month, and it'll show you all the posts from that month. You can go to any time period you want, from now all the way back to your first day on Facebook.
Also note that you can jump to a specific time period using the dropdown menus at the top of the page, if you don't like the sidebar tree. If at any point, you want to see all posts instead of just Facebook's Highlights, you can choose "All Posts" from the dropdown menu as well.
You might also want to check out the top of your profile, from which you can access a list of your friends, a new view of all your photos (which is actually pretty great), your Likes, and so on. You can also click the tiny "About" link under your profile picture to view your basic info, About Me, work and education, and so on.

How to Add New Events to Your Timeline

While you can add a status or photo to the top of your timeline as normal, the new view also allows you to add blocks on earlier sections of the timeline as well. Say you have a baby picture you want to upload to Facebook. You could go back to the year you were born and add it there, so it appears in chronological order, rather than putting it at the top. To do this, just find the desired spot on the timeline, and hover over the blue line in the middle. Your cursor will turn into a plus sign. You can then click there to add any kind of post you want, be it a new status, photo, place, or other life event (such as a change in relationship status, change in city, or others).
If you want to move a post that already exists—whether you posted it at the top or whether someone else posted an old picture of you—you can move it to a different spot on the timeline as well. Just hover over the post and click the pencil icon that shows up. Hit "Change Date" to move it anywhere you want on your timeline, and it'll show up there from now on.

How to Change the Look of Your Timeline

You'll notice that while the interface is very different, Facebook doesn't work all that differently from the way it used to. At the top of your timeline, you can add a new status update, photo, or place, and you can read all your wall posts just by scrolling down the timeline. The only new features you really need to learn about are those that directly relate to how your timeline looks.
The first thing you'll want to check out is the cover. Essentially, you have two main photos on the front of your profile—one is your profile picture, which you should already see. The other is a "cover", a large, high-res photo that will appear behind your profile picture, and you can make this whatever you want. To add one, click the "Add a Cover" button on the right side or your profile. You can choose one of your existing photos or upload one from your hard drive. You can change your cover photo at any time just by hovering over it and clicking the "Change Cover" button that appears.
The other new feature you'll want to try is starring a post. If there's a post you or someone else has made that you want to draw more attention to on your timeline, just hover over it and click the star button. This will make it wider, stretching across both columns of your timeline, to make it more noticeable. It'll also help break up the two-column view and keep the whole thing more interesting, which is nice. To delete a post or hide it from your timeline, click the pencil icon next to the star.

How to Make Old Posts More Private

The one big downside to the Timeline layout is that you can easily see every post you've ever made or received on Facebook. All anyone needs to do is go to a certain year on your profile and click the "All Posts" button. For a lot of us, that means posts you made when you were in high school—and I don't need to tell you how embarrassing it can be to look at some of the things you used to say in high school.
You have a few choices here, and unfortunately neither is very ideal. You can go through your timeline and hide or delete individual posts by clicking the pencil icon, but depending on how long you've been on Facebook and how active you are, this could take forever.
Alternatively, if you have any old posts that are public or shared with friends of friends, you can change the privacy of all those posts to "Friends Only" with one click. It won't hide those posts from your friends, but it will at least keep everyone else on Facebook from being able to browse every post you've ever made public. Click the arrow next to the "Home" button in the upper right hand corner of Facebook. Head to Privacy Settings, then scroll down to "Limit the Audience for Past Posts". Click "Manage Past Post Visibility" and click the "Limit Old Posts" button. This will make all your past posts visible to Friends Only.
Going forward, all posts you make will be subject to the same privacy settings you had before—so if it was set to Public, every post you make after hitting "Limit Old Posts" will still be public. Check out our guide to managing your Facebook privacy for more info.
Again, this feature isn't perfect, since those posts will still be visible to all your friends, but it's up to you how deeply you want to cultivate those old posts that everyone now has easy access to. Remember, though, you have 7 days before the Timeline goes public, so if you did want to dig in and go through every year, you could at least spread the work over a few days.

The nominations for the 2012 Golden Globes have been announced, with French silent film The Artist leading the pack with six nods.
The low-budget flick, which stars relatively unknown actors Jean Dujardin and Berenice Bejo, has beaten a number of Hollywood blockbusters to secure the most nominations, ranging from the best acting accolades to Best Comedy or Musical.
George Clooney's The Desecendants and 1960's civil rights drama The Help are tied in second place with five nominations, as both films will do battle for the coveted Best Drama award.
As with all award shows, there was bound to be some controversy as movies Tinker Tailor Solider Spy and The Tree Of Life - starring Brad Pitt - were notably absent from the shortlist.
Despite not receiving a nod for his role in The Tree Of Life, Pitt was named in the Best Drama Actor category for Moneyball, where he will take on the likes of Ryan Gosling and Clooney for their part in The Ides Of March.
The Best Motion Picture Drama category is shaping up to be the most interesting, with The Descendants, Moneyball, The Help, Hugo, The Ides of March and War Horse all battling it out for the coveted award.
The nominations were announced by Sofia Vergara, Woody Harrelson, Rashida Jones and Gerard Butler at the Beverly Hilton Hotel - with the Globes thought to be a good indication who may receive nods at The Oscars next year.
The Golden Globes are set to take place on 15th January and will once again be hosted by the UK's very own Ricky Gervais.

DataWind, the Canadian company that is manufacturing Aakash, has started the online booking and pre booking of the much anticipated low cost Android tablet. Online booking is for students' version of the tablet and pre booking is for UbiSlate 7, the upgraded version of Aakash.

Students' version of Aakash will be available for Rs 2,500 and will be delivered in seven days. The commercial version, UbiSlate 7 is priced at Rs 2,999. The payment mode for both the tablets is cash on delivery.

The commercial version of Aakash tablet will be powered by Android 2.3 and will have a resistive touchscreen, Cortex A8-700 MHz processor and graphics accelerator HD video processor, 256 MB of RAM and 2 GB of internal memory.

Other specifications are a one standard USB port, 3.5 mm audio jack, a 7 inch display with 800 x 480 pixel resolution, resistive touchscreen, GPRS and WiFi support.

"The improved version of Aakash tablet will be available in retail outlets by January end," a spokesperson of DataWind told The Mobile Indian.

The tablet was to be made available in retail stores by the end of November. "The delay in the availability of the tablet has been due to upgradation in the tablet and some unforeseen delay in manufacturing," the spokesperson said.

To book and prebook student and commercial versions respectively of Aakash tablet, users have to visit DataWind's website and fill up the required form. In case of booking they will get a booking ID and a message which will state, "You will shortly receive an email confirmation from our support team with further details."

In case of pre booking users will get a confirmation message which will state, "The commercial version of the Akash UbiSlate 7 would be launched in early weeks of December. After the commercial launch we would get in touch with you to deliver your device as soon possible."

As a matter of fact, the confirmation message a reader will see is factually incorrect as The mobile Indian had reported earlier the Aakash tablet will be available only by January end.

Datawind has however not cleared how it is going to establish the identity of students who will book the cheapest version of Aakash tablet. When The Mobile Indian contacted spokesperson of Datwind he said, "Anyone can book the student version of Aakash tablet."

This defeats the purpose of providing students an affordable tablet as now anyone can place an order to get the tablet. Interestingly, now it has been revealed that the government has procured only 10,000 Aakash tablets for distribution in schools and colleges of the initial 1 lakh proposed.

It looks like the company was in a hurry to start the online booking process and has not done not proper homework before staring it.

Chris Paul To Clippers In Blockbuster Deal: All-Star Guard Traded To Los Angeles

Chris Paul is headed to Los Angeles for real this time - to the Clippers, not the Lakers.  The Hornets traded Paul to the Clippers for guard Eric Gordon, forward Al-Farouq Aminu, center Chris Kaman, and a 2012 first-round draft choice.  The deal required the approval of commissioner David Stern because the Hornets are owned by the league.  With this trade, Stern said “the future of the Hornets in New Orleans is brighter than it’s ever been.’’  The 26-year-old Paul is a four-time All-Star who averaged 18.7 points and 9.8 assists last season, his sixth in the NBA. His move to the Clippers means he’ll now be able to make alley-oop lobs to a young star famous for dunking over a car. That would be forward Blake Griffin, who averaged 22.5 points and 12.1 rebounds last season, his first in the NBA.  The Hornets, meanwhile, get a prolific young shooting guard in Gordon, who turns 23 on Christmas Day and averaged 22.3 points last season. The 6-foot-9-inch Aminu is a second-year pro who averaged 5.6 points and 3.3 rebounds as a rookie.  The 7-foot Kaman, 29, is an eight-year veteran who averaged 12.4 points and seven rebounds last season, but played in only 32 games because of a left ankle injury.  “With this trade, we now have three additional players who were among the top eight draft picks in their respective drafts as well as our own first-round pick and Minnesota’s first round pick,’’ Hornets general manager Dell Demps said in a statement. “Aminu is a young talent with a bright future, Gordon is a big-time scorer and one of the best [shooting] guards in the league and Kaman is a proven center and former All-Star. Sign the player, then go to "Budget Allocation", and set the "Transfer Funds" to "Wage Budget" ratio 0:100. This makes the money for transfer funds 0%. Go to "Sell Players", and terminate the loan of the player you just signed. You should have more than $2 billion. Go to "Budget Allocation", and change your wages funds percentage as desired (40:60 is recommended).
During a transfer period, loan any player. Once he has signed, go into your budget allocation, and put the entire budget into wages. Then, release the player instantly. Go back into your budget allocation, and put the allocation level to 50:50. You should now have over 2 billion for transfers and 46 million for wages.

Easy arena accomplishments As a player, kick the ball away. Then, switch to the goalkeeper, and run as far away as possible from the goal while the AI controls your player and runs to the ball. Switch back to your Virtual Pro player, and shoot from a distance to get the accomplishment for shooting from a distance of 32 yards. If you juggle the ball and volley, you will also get another accomplishment. This trick also helps to get other accomplishments.
